Eastern - A unique experience in Donoussa

The island is suffused with the smell of wood burning from the traditional bakeries. Every evening all the inhabitants gather at church to attend the service of Holly Week.

On good Friday we all follow the carrying of the Epitaph. On Saturday there is a spectacular display of fireworks which light up the sky of Donoussa and will fill everyone with enthusiasm. On Easter Sunday the inhabitants of the Cycladic islands make traditional roast meat in the oven while others decide to make meat roasted on a spit.
